In recent years there have been some dramatic changes to
the building regulations, enforceable by law and
plumbing, sanitary conveniences, washing facilities,
bathrooms and waste, all linked to the “Water Supply
(Water Fittings) Regulations
1999, are no exception. On 6th April 2006, the
government made it law that the installation and in
almost all cases, direct like-for-like replacement of
the above would require work to be carried out by a
“Competent Person,” registered with an approved body, or
local building control to visit and certify the
installation. When a certificate of conformity is
issued please remember to keep it safe as it will be
required for any future sale of the property.
